Pebbles Day Nursery
We have recently paid a visit to Pebbles Day Nursery in Swansea which has remained open since the very first lock down for the children of key workers.
Owner, Kelly Phillips, has put in place a number of measures to ensure the safety of the children, parents and staff at the nursery. These include sanitising stations at the nursery entrance, at access points to individual rooms; limiting the numbers of visitors to the nursery; wearing masks when parents arrive to drop off or pick up their children; and arranging visits by prospective parents during evenings and weekends only. Staff are also tested regularly and will be actively encouraged to get the Covid vaccine once it is on offer to this group.
Children are also encouraged to wash their hands regularly as part of their ongoing daily routine (which is made fun to songs and music).
Concerns over the new strain of the virus plus an increase in the number of key worker children now at the nursery, made Kelly consider the next step in the disinfection and sanitisation of the premises.
