UV-C Disinfection Robots Adopted by Airline Companies for Cabin Sanitisation

Having shared recently that Heathrow Airport is using UV-C Disinfection robots to clean all surfaces, we read last week that a Canadian-based airline is now using similar robots to disinfect aircraft cabins between flights.

The article, published by Yahoo Finance, states that: “UVC light destroys up to 99.9% of pathogens - including the COVID-19 virus. The use of UVC light reduces the need for frequent chemical-based disinfection that could impact aircraft interior surfaces and sensitive equipment and leave residues that may come into contact with passengers and crew.”

The same article also explains that "the transportation industry has been brought to its knees as a result of the pandemic. Now, more than ever, rapid, consistent, safe, chemical-free disinfection of air and surfaces is vital for employee and passenger safety in the fight against current and future pandemics.” Read full article here

Evolve Raybotix UV-C Robots for Airlines

Evolve Raybotix is a UK-based company which has developed a range of UV-C Disinfection robots supported by ozone which tick all of the boxes when it comes to the requirements of airlines as follows:

  • Infection control: our robots, which are now classified as a medical device, destroy microorganisms’ DNA structures, quickly and safely eradicating 99.9% of harmful bacteria and viruses.

  • Visibility & frequency of cleaning: following a disinfection by our robots, we provide signs to indicate that spaces have been disinfected and deeply sanitised. When it comes to frequency, our robots can be programmed to clean as frequently as required with different models offering various levels of coverage:

  • Increased sustainability: UV-C disinfection robots sanitise all spaces in an environmentally friendly and chemical-free way by deconstructing ozone back into oxygen at the end of the disinfection cycle rendering disinfected spaces and leaving no harmful residues.

Evolve Raybotix Robot Models

What’s more, the Evolve Raybotix robots are not reliant on people to operate them. These robots can programmed manually or remotely to schedule a disinfection of a room or dedicated area to allow for a cleaning process to suit your operational needs, either during working or non-work hours.'

Our three models include:

  • The NEO UV-C disinfection robot is able to clean 25m2 in as little as 15 minutes.

  • The EOS UV-C disinfection robot can sanitise an area of 80m2 in as little as eight minutes.

  • The mobile SOL UV-C disinfection robot is able to clean 100m2 in as little as seven minutes.

The NEO and SOL models also come with the Air module which has the ability to sanitise environments without having to vacate the space. Read more here.
